Chest and Waist Measurement

Chest and Waist Measurement

Measure your chest while it is expanded (ECM or Expanded Chest Measurement) and measure your waist while it is relaxed (RWM or Relaxed Waist Measurement).  The chest-waist measurement is an indicator of Category 1 potbelly if the difference between ECM and RWM is more than 5 inches in men and more than 10 inches in women.  Category 2 potbelly is indicated if the difference between ECM and RWM is less than 5 inches in men and less than 10 inches in women.

Obesity can lower HDL (high-density lipoprotein) levels and lead to a rise in triglyceride levels, to hypertension, heart disease, arteriosclerosis, strokes, diabetes, osteoarthritis, gallstones, cancers, varicose veins, breathing problems, sleeping problems, depression, low libido, hernias, backaches, flat feet and so on.
